hello, 你好, bonjour, 안녕하세요, hallo, こんにちは, aloha,
i'm ShuTing.
ShuTing (she/her) here!
Thank you for visiting my little internet nook.
I'm pursuing my Computer Science degree at the
University of British Columbia,
progressing through my career journey as a software engineer
and doing the occasional dabble into design.
In my free time you can catch me on the badminton or volleyball courts,
hiking local mountains, trying to become a polyglot, documenting my adventures through films
and organizing hackathons at nwPlus!
I'm extremely passionate about Diversity & Inclusion and love building events through
cmd-f
to support women*-identifying and underrepresented groups in their tech world explorations.
Let's chat! Or find my mini chatbot in the corner
who is eager to help break the ice. Try asking for my music recommendations, my favourite
podcasts, what I'm currently reading or what language I want to learn next.
British Columbia's first and largest all-women* hackathon

What you're on right now :)
The art of storytelling is something I've admired my whole life.
In the recent years I've found myself capturing photos and videos of spontaneous moments, storyboarding
travels I've only dreamt of, researching camera equipment and watching Adobe CC tutorials. I started
compiling footage captured from my phone into short videos as a self-made souvenir after every family
trip. Piecing together clips, creating transitions, layering audio altogether was like attempting a
puzzle without a definitive ending piece. Filmmaking has been a way for me to document my memories,
share my experiences and express appreciation for what I love. You'll find my videos here on my
YouTube
channel!
There's an intersection of tech with film, music, communication, entertainment and more that I'd love to
explore in the future. Thank you for taking your time to read about my interests, I really appreciate
it. I believe I can learn something from everyone, so please don't hesitate to reach out, it would be an
absolute honour to hear your story!
